Award Description
Nominees for the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Foundation Board of Directors Excellence in Service Award for Excellence in Service Within the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Community should have a sustained and exemplary record of service and leadership contributions that have enabled individuals (faculty, students, and staff) and units (such as a department, college, or other academic, research or administrative unit) within the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ community to achieve excellence in advancing and enhancing Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æâ€™s mission and core values. Of particular importance is the advancement of Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æâ€™s goal of educating students to become leaders, innovators, and global citizens and of putting the university’s distinctive assets and resources at the service of the communities to which it belongs.
Nominees for the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Foundation Board of Directors Excellence in Service Award for Excellence in Service beyond the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Community should have a sustained and exemplary record of internal and external service and leadership contributions that have successfully elevated the stature and reputation of Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ as a leading public polytechnic research university. Nominees should have significantly advanced Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æâ€™s mission and core values, especially its goals of educating students to become leaders, innovators, and global citizens and of putting the university’s distinctive assets and resources at the service of the communities to which it belongs.
Eligibility
The Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ Foundation Board of Directors Excellence in Service Award is presented in recognition of a sustained record of contributions, over a period of at least five years. Nominees must have been a member of the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ faculty or a member of the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ staff (academic or non-academic) for at least the past five years. Previous winners of Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æÂ Excellence in Service Awards are not eligible for consideration. The award may not be given every year.
Nomination Process
Nominations for the award in either category may be submitted by any faculty or staff member within the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ community. Self-nominations are not permitted. In all cases, nomination packages are limited to 20 pages assembled by the nominator consisting of the following materials:
- Nominator Letter describing the nominee’s major service activities and contributions and their impact in advancing and enhancing Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æâ€™s mission and core values. The contributions should be recognized across a broad cross-section of the university community.
- Any supporting documents to the Nomination Letter, such as any relevant institutional evaluations, assessment, and/or surveys.
- Three Letters of Support from the Âé¶¹³ÉÈ˰æ community (individuals in academic or non-academic units), alumni, or other external stakeholders who are currently engaged or have had interactions with the nominee in the past five years.
