Placement Test Registration
Congratulations on your acceptance to 麻豆成人版! The Office of Placement Testing听is excited that you will be joining us!
We are committed to making sure you are placed in the courses that are commensurate to your level of preparation and career goals.
All incoming听students must听take the English and Math placement assessments unless you are exempt*. In order to obtain access to the placement assessment, you must claim your at least 48 hours prior to date of your听assessment if you have not already done so.
- English Placement Assessment
- English Placement Essay听takes approximately 50 minutes
- English Placement Survey听takes approximately 20 minutes听听
- Completion of both sections,听Essay听 & Survey,听is essential听for听appropriate course placement.
- Math Placement Assessment
- Math Placement Assessment 听is approximately 2 hours and is divided into three sections:
- Basic Algebra (25 problems, 30 minutes), Advance Algebra (25 problems, 30听minutes) and Trigonometry (30 problems, 45 minutes)听
- No calculator usage allowed and all sections must be completed for appropriate placement
- Completion of all three (3) sections is essential听for听appropriate course placement

- Math Placement Assessment 听is approximately 2 hours and is divided into three sections:
鈥�Students who require accommodations under the American with Disabilities Act must contact the Office of Accessibility Resources &听Services (OARS) at:听oars@njit.edu or 973-596-5417 before accessing听the placement assessment
It is critical that all students taking the placement assessment听 complete it in one sitting.听 Please allocate sufficient time听to complete all required听sections of the placement assessment the same day.
**ATTENTION**
Fall 2025 First-Year incoming students do not need to register for the Placement Assessment.听Upon receipt of your deposit, you will be notified via email about how to access the听Placement Assessment.听听Only transfer students need to to take听the placement assessment starting听March 17th. (Please Note:You must access the registration form by using听 your 麻豆成人版 email or you will be denied access.) 听 Reminder:听In听order to obtain access to听the placement assessment you must claim your听UCID听at least 48 hours prior to the date of the placement assessment听if you have not already done so.听听
